Consideration for the environment is nothing new for Altera. As our Green Initiatives Timeline illustrates, environmental thinking became part of our corporate culture early-on and we continue to make progress in this area. Our long-standing Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy seeks to comply with all applicable standards and regulations.

Altera will conduct due diligence with relevant suppliers concerning the origin of the metals that are used in Altera products consistent with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. Each supplier must demonstrate that they understand and support EICC-GeSI actions and will not knowingly procure metals that specifically originate from the conflict mines in the DRC Region. We request that our suppliers provide evidence of their due diligence activities, and completion of the EICC-GeSI Conflict Minerals reporting template. Altera also supports initiatives such as the Conflict Free Smelter (CFS) program to validate responsible and sustainable sources.
